Mental Health Support For Families for Parents
We all know parenting is hard! It’s even harder when the parent is living with a mental health disorder/illness. We provide parents with services to improve themselves and their home environment.
What we offer:
*Each parent will have a resource worker they will meet twice a month via video chat. The resource worker will be able to help the family obtain community resources. Such as food stamps, health insurance, doctors appointments, housing, employment school issues with IEP and behavioral plans, and special education.
* Every Monday and Friday we will have coffee hour. During this time parents are able to reflect on their week and weekend. Or just come and say hello.
* We offer our parents different therapeutic activities, support groups, educational workshops and self care and parent improvement groups.
To make participating in our nonprofit organization easier I decided to make it virtual to accommodate parents and kids with behavioral and intellectual difficulties that are unable to physically participate in group gatherings. I also took into consideration parents being unable to find childcare and transportation.
